Mission Statement: “The Yellowstone Historic Center seeks to understand, preserve, and interpret the unique cultural heritage of West Yellowstone and the Hebgen Lake basin, and the connection of that heritage to the development of transportation and visitation to Yellowstone National Park.”
The Yellowstone Historic Center is fortunate enough to house countless photographs, documents, and oral history interviews all focused on the unique history encompassed in the YHC Mission Statement. These items provide important documentation of West Yellowstone’s history from its earliest days to the present. The YHC desires to share this information with the public through the digitization. After converting all audio cassettes to digital audio files and scanning all photos, the YHC will begin the process of making the files available to the public online. Any donation you make to the Archive Project will go towards costs involved in the digitization and preservation of the YHC’s archival collections.
